This afternoon, I realized that my Brother walking foot fits on my older Singer. I needed to make a Bow Tuck, but my Brother quit. So, I had to use my Singer. After working on it a little while, I realized that I needed a walking foot. I thought, hey...can't hurt to see if it fits. It does!!

Isn't that neat. I found out this morning that my Janome feet fit on my Singer too. I love it.

so there's hope for me. i have two walking feet and don't know which machines they belong to. I wonder if it simply has to do with the shank height.

Another discovery!! If I take the presser foot holder off my Brother and put it on my Singer, I can use ALL of my Brother feet!!!

I saw on Ebay, a 'converter' foot... that basically clamps onto a low shank, side clamping (old vintage singer and others) presser bar... and you can then use the snap on feet like my Janome 4000 uses. Lots of machines today use those snap on feet. And it's a great idea to be able to use them on the old machines too.

I just need a button and finish the foundation for the bottom!! I'll take a picture of it later. I'm giving it as a baby shower gift. It's camo..the daddy-to-be is a hunter.

My 1940 singer and my 2004 singer feet are interchangeable.
