can you mix (or have you mixed) home spun fabrics with cottons. i have 2 patterns i really want to make. both are scrappy and call for lots of plaids with some tone-on-tone for background. i have many fat quarters of the home spun that i would like to use up. yea or nay?

Our foremothers combined ALL kinds of fabric. I'm not sure if anyone has a reason not to, but if you like the way it looks, I'd say go ahead! I made a scarf and hat with homespun....so I imagine it'll stand up well with a quilt!

I do it all the time - I don't pre-wash anything because I like that "quilty" look that appears with the shrinkage. I just love home-spuns so I usually end up putting some of them in almost everything I do.
