Just finished this baby quilt, washed and dried it and then noticed the pink in this block ran onto the white. I didn't notice it unfortunately before I dried it. Is there anything I can use to at least lighten it up or hopefully remove it altogether? At least the shower isn't until the end of July if I decide to make another!
Ouch! Been there. Mine is still waiting for me to do something. Try washing in Dawn? It might take some out, not sure, but what could it hurt? If it works a little bit, do it again. Maybe it will come out after a few washes.

Wash in a machine that uses a *lot* of water. Front-loading domestic machines do not use enough water to dilute dye bleeds; if you washed in a front-loading domestic machine, that is probably why you have the bleed. Front-loading commercial washing machines, as in a laundromat, use enough water as do domestic top-loaders that allow you to fill the tub with the amount of water you want.
Use Synthrapol and ***hot*** water in a machine that uses lots of water. Synthrapol requires hot water to work. Synthrapol will lift loose dye particles out of the fabric and keep them suspended in the water to be rinsed away.

I always add a color catcher with any type of laundry. They are not very expensive.

Maybe you can try washing again with a color catcher, really like those things. Don't know for sure if they will work at this point but simple to try. Sometimes I use two or three if I'm washing a quilt that I'm "suspicious" of. Please let us know what you how it turns out and which method works for you. Such a pretty block and colors, hope you can use it.
You might look back on this topic to some older posts, seems like there have been several on this same problem and there were lots of helpful suggestions. When I had this happen, I washed the quilt again with several color catchers, and most all of it came out. I think others have suggested the same, and even rewashing (without drying) several times with the color catchers. Good luck, hate it when something like this happens after all your hard work!!!
yep color catchers.
i've had good luck with "stains" with Oxyclean and a soft tooth brush.... Let it sit for a half hour or so before rewashing....and i would add the color catcher as extra insurance.
Of all the things i've lost, i miss my mind the most.
I had this happen on one my quilts a couple years ago but it was a deep red that bled onto the white. I didn't catch it till after it had gone into the dryer too so thought it was a lost cause but someone here said just throw it back into the washer with a color catcher and it should take out the red. It did and I was never so happy as when it came out of the dryer the second time with no bleeding of red.
Haven't tried the Dawn method but will keep that in mind for future moments.

Thanks everyone for the help with removing the bleed. I sprayed the affected areas with Oxiclean, used two color catchers and color safe bleach. It took 3 more times in the wash, but now I can gift it and not feel bad about it.
