Have you ever made a quilt and it was not large enough. This quilt that I am trying to make is suppose to be a queen. It is 60 by 58. I need it to be the size of a queen. Can you help me and give me some suggestions on making it larger.

I've done lots of borders when something came out too small.
You can determine how much bigger you want it.
Good luck!! :)

Without seeing it I can only suggest to add a row or two or three of blocks along the exsising outside boarder than add a new outside boarder or two.

Adding extra blocks or extra borders is what I always do too. Sometimes it looks nicer if you make a border of pieced blocks, or alternating pieced blocks and plain blocks.

I cannot tell you how much all of you have helped me. I will make a row of alternate blocks and then make a row of borders. I think I have sashing between my main blocks. I was trying very hard not to put more sashing but that may be what I have to do. But it will be hard to line up the sashing on the outter blocks with the ones inside the quilt. Please this is my first quilt and I know it is not very good but I have been happy about it. I will post it and take your critques also. I love this site. Thanks again for your feedback it has help.

Your border blocks may not need sashing... maybe a small more solid border, then the block border. It would make it easier for you

lay it out on the bed and see what size blocks you will need to add around to fit better, then figure borders for over hang. it can be done.

Hello,
This is a little bit different, but it worked for me. You are aware of the bed skirt around the bottom of the mattress? I sewed mine to my quilt on 3 sides and now I have a whole piece that works for the bed. A little ruffle on the bottom might also work.
Best wishes, and thanks for reading my 2 cents.
