I love the batik! Imho the blue is much fresher looking, and brightens the quilt. I think the black looks a little dull.

Either would work but I think the black makes the star blocks "pop"; whereas, the blue itself
"pops" and maybe takes away from the pretty star blocks. Whatever appeals to you is what's most important.
Show a picture when it is done. Thanks.

I AGREE with everyone. I like the black and the blue. And maybe a batik gray.

I prefer the black but I would say use whichever you like best as they both look good!

I like the blue, really brightens up the blocks. Black works ok. blue adds "sparkle".

This was my though also. The black reads calming while the blue does create sparkle.

Black will keep the colors from running together, I vote black.

Depends ... do you have any blue blocks? If so, depending on the value of the blocks they might get lost with a blue sashing. Audition at least two blue blocks, if they blend too much then the black is a clear choice.
May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.
