    Default needle threader Juki TL2010Q

I have watched 3 you tube videos that go so fast I can't see what they are doing. Anybody have a favorite video to help me thread my machine. My eyes are bad so now to thread it I take the needle out and thread it and put it back in so can hold it up to the light to see the eye of the needle. The manual is so vague have not figured their drawing out either.

i had the tl98q,,, i don't know if they improved the threader since then, but i found the threader hard to use. i used my machine on a frame and put a large-eyed needle in it... similar to a jeans needle. then i could thread it by hand, even with my poor vision.

There is a thing that helps me thread my hand and machine needles. It is very fine wire you stick thru the needle then place your thread thru the thin wire and pull it thru. It came with my Bernina

It's tricky. The way I thread is, when you are looking at your machine and it is ready to push the threader, if you hold the thread straight toward you that is "6 o'clock". I hold my thread tail at about "4 o'clock". Don't know why it works but it does the trick for me. Also make certain not to hold the thread tail too tight, there has to be enough to let the thread stay in the needle when you let it go. For a while there I was pulling it back out of the needle when I let go.

I never have good luck with any needle threaders, even with my old age eyes they are harder to use than just threading the needle myself.

I too have watched the video and read my manual many many times on using the self threader on my Juki and I still don't get it. I have no problem with my Janome or my Husqvarna but the one on my Juke remains a big mystery.

Never been able to use mine either... I really wish it wasn't even on there as it has come down and cut my finger numerous times while sewing.

I also have never gotten the needle threader to work!!! Otherwise I really love my Juki. I hope someone else can help us, thanks for posting the thread.

I have this machine and the hook in the needle threader is very hard to see in real life, let alone a video...so I can understand! There is a small hook that goes through the eye of the needle and you have to catch it on your thread to pull it through. It goes through the eye of the needle much easier of your needle bar is at the highest position and your presser foot is down creating a little pressure on the top thread. I love Juki but the needle threader leaves a lot to be desired...it's probably my least favorite feature as it's just more of a pain than a help!

This one is terrific, imo. She demos on a 98 but it's the same threader. Be sure your needle is in uppermost position (I hit needle up/down button) and presser foot is down.
I hope this helps you as it did me.
This feature is fantastic once you get the hang of it~and you will after doing it just a few times
