Thread: Which Needle Would You Use?

I'm making a scarecrow and I'm a bit hesitant for the hair. I have this twine that I think would make a nice hair piece but I'm unsure about which needle to use. I'm torn between using a 16, a denim or an 18 needle. It's just standard twine that you would buy at the hardware or craft store, like what is used to bale hay. Any thoughts?

A carpet needle. You can buy a pkg. of different sizes and shapes at most any store.

Do you want it to go through the sewing machine needle? Or were you thinking of couching or some other form of embellishing sewing?

It was more for embellishing a scarecrow that I was sewing. It wasn't going to go through the needle or anything like that. I ended up sewing it with a 16 needle since my local LQS wasn't open so I couldn't get a carpet needle.
