I always used to use Schmetz, but now I buy 100 organ needles on ebay at one time, and because they are so much cheaper, I change them a lot, and don't feel miserly about it.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but 30 something years ago I was sewing with a Kenmore machine. I had been using organ needles and ran out and picked up a pack of Singer needles. THEY WOULD NOT WORK ON MY MACHINE! I later found out that singer needles were just a hair or 2 longer but it really made a difference in my machine. Since then I have never used singer needles.
