A quilter friend lent me a book she just finished called An Elm Creek Quilts Sampler by Jennifer Chiaverini. It has 3 books in one. There are several more. I started it and its great. Its about a new girl in town, making friends and trying quilting for the first time. So far its very good. Only problem is when Im reading, Im not sewing!!!

Maureen her Elm Creek Quilt series of books are marvelous. And the best part is she keeps writing more! Enjoy them.

Love those books! I've read them all. She's got a new one coming out in the fall I believe.

You an also get them on cd. My dm is almost completely blind. She used to quilt and read like crazy. Now she spends most of her time listening to books on cd. We get them from the library for the blind and the public library.

I also get them on CD from the library ... then I listen while I sew! Feeds both my addictions that way!!

If you can, start with the first in the series, and follow them in order. It's an ongoing saga of these women and their famiies. I read my first book in that series years ago, and have been buying them at yard sales and thrift stores since then to keep in my collection. I can't wait for the next new one to come out. :)

Ive read all of them, some I bought on sale, some I checked out at the library.
They are much better than any other quilt series of books.
