Enjoy!! I used to be able to buy a cute print of teddy bears that were pastel colors and looked gingham-y. Don't know how else to say that. The new section in our WalMart isn't carrying it, but I keep checking. Meanwhile, it's close to home and great for interfacings, etc., and they do have some cute fabrics.

Ours recently re-opened here, too. It isn't as extensive as it was before, but closer to me than Joann's or any other fabric stores. Handy does mean plenty to me!

congrayts!! I don't know who had the brilliant idea to do away with a fabric section to start with but hope they realize what a mistake they made. It also appears that some of their fabric is of a bit better quality than before yet they still have "cheap" stuff too

Ours use to be great! The manager really knew good material and accessories from bad ones. Last year they decreased the size, brought in lots of less and cheaper material and you really have to be careful what you buy. They still carry a small section of batting but not all sizes. My LQS is very good but does not have as big of selection as some stores.

The same thing happened at my WalMart. It seems that after they supersized, they carried fewer choices on a lot of items and dropped the fabric and sporting goods departments. When we first got word on the board at WalMart reinstalling fabric departments I asked our store manager about when we would get ours back. He replied that he had not heard anything about that. Oh, well.

Wonderful! I am lucky that my Wal-Mart has always had a large fabric selection. Quilting fabrics, fleece, lace, you name it. Some people choose not to shop at Wal-Mart, but, I have purchased many yards of fabric from them. Enjoy!

Be careful what you buy. The Wally store here has a lot of ''fabrics'' made in Pakistan and Mexico and the contents are unknown ? I'm clueless as to what that means exactly. I bought a 1/3 yd piece to re-trim a doll blanket - I stay stitched it before washing it and it raveled beyond the stitches by a couple inches. I took it with me back to the store to show them and when I pulled the bolt it read made in Pakistan of unknown content and because I sewed on it and washed it my money was unrefundable. At least it was a cheap lesson. So read the end tabs to save yourself money and time.

The reason that Wal-Mart removed the fabric section and many other items from their stores is because a few years ago they hired a new president. He wanted to upscale the store and get rid of old-fashioned things. After he did that, Wal-Mart lost a lot of customers. That guy has since been fired and a new president installed.
