For that amount of throat space I can live with the red.

Love Janome, and sure would like to have that space to work with regardless of the color.

As red is my favourite colour, I think this machine looks great. It really reminds me of the Husqvarna 835 which has very similar features and is their top of the line quilting machine. I have been waiting for a domestic machine with more space in the harp area even though I already have a Janome 6500. I'll definately go and have a look when it is out as I like a sit down and sew machine. Mid-arms and large frames just aren't as exciting as I thought they would be, so this machine should fill a need to let me stitch large quilts in my sewing room without completely draining my retirement savings.

I'm a 'lavendar lady' myself - and am very happy with my Janome 6500 - the color just might have had something to do with my buying this machine - it was my first Janome! I stayed with Janome when purchasing my next machine - the 1600P - so happy it was lavendar also! I'm sure red would have made me go to a different brand all together! If I didn't like looking at it, I wouldn't like sewing with it!

its too bad they dont have color change plates. That way you can change them with your mood :)

I got an email today from a LQS for the launch party on May 1st! I'm going to plan to go to see what it looks like!

I don't mind the red, though it does look a bit cheesy. My problem is that, other than the wonderful throat space, I don't see where it will do anything different or better than the 6600 model. I love my 6600!!
