I've liked every Janome I ever used, from the Gem Silver, Gem Gold & on up.
Unfortunately, new Pfaffs are not like your old Pfaff. Mine was made in China and had I known that, I wouldn't have bought it. It will be sold shortly.

As for IDT, the patent Pfaff had on that ran out a couple of years ago, and all machines now have a version of it.

Dina, yes it does feel good. I kept flip flopping about which way to go, but the quilt sandwiches didn't lie.

Someone on this board suggested that I shop with the quilt sandwiches and I am so happy I did.

Congratulations! I have an older model, Janome 6500, and use it almost daily. If you can, maybe post an update how the machine is working out for you. I would love to know.

Great choice, Lynda. I'm sure the models you considered were all fine machines. I love my 8900, and find quilting on it is so much fun. If you've never had a Janome Horizon line machine, my best advice is to only use well wound bobbins. That is the one thing my Janomes have demanded of me. If I do my part, my Janome does its job beautifully.
