I have been doing SID on the jelly roll quilt on my current machine. Has small throat space (6 inches plus presser foot raise and lower lever) was ok as long as it was just a few rows, butttttttttttt, once the rows turned into a large roll, it became a real mess to work with.
I know this is my first time doing this but am thinking perhaps a machine with a larger throat space like a PFAFF would be better.
Going to go look at the local dealer tomorrow am and see what he has in stock.
I looked up the embroidery one - love it. Large area for holding a quilt as well as embroidery features.

I have two Pfaff machines and love them. I have quilted up to queen size on my Creative 7550 (a little challenging, but doable) and now I have invested in a Hobby 1200 (mid-arm) LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

I looked around at various machines, the PFAFF seems best for price. (in my price range)
It claims it has the largest throat space - space right of needle.
Right now I am using a Euro Pro Shark, nice machine but throat is small and tight, especially with the presser foot lever inside of that area.
The space on the PFAFF says 9 - 11 inches right of the needle - that is a lot of room.

You won't go wrong with Pfaff. I won't have anything else.

Glad to see there are Pfaff lovers here. everyone in my area is switching to Bernina, but I love the walking foot. I have an old 1222e and a newer 2056. Love them both.

Went and looked at machines. I like the PFAFF Creative 2.0.
Price isn't bad either, and if I wait a month to get a 20% discount even better.
I looked at BabyLock and Viking also - didn't really care for them.
So figure I can start out with the Creative 2.0 and later upgrade to a 4.0 or Creative Vision as they are about double the price of the 2.0 which is approx $1560. Waiting till the third Sat in June will give me a 20% off of that.

I have the CV 5.0 and I wouldn't have anything else...I love it and it does beautiful emb.
