I have done quite a bit of fusible applique quilts and am now beginning to do piecing... think I'm getting hooked fast! ;)
I am currently working on a valentines day table runner with the color scheme of white, red, black and hot pink. With all of these colors of fabric squares what would be an appropriate thread color? I am currently using a neutral off white.
Thank you.

With those colors I would use gray.

I've started using only neutral colors for piecing, inless I'm working with black or very dark fabrics, I use black which is also neutral, I guess.

My piecing threads are ecru/cream, medium gray, and slate (nearly black but useful on navy). Rarely used anything else for nearly 30 years.

I use cream for all my quilts, light, dark and in between. It works very well for me.

White would be fine. I use white or a light gray to piece.
