Default A new project?!?!?

Lately, I have been fascinated with the pattern Pies and Tarts, but didn't really want to do epp...have one of those in progress now...and another waiting in the wings! So I sort of filed into the back of my head....in the meantime, ordered circle template set from Lori Holt (I am a sucker for gadgets), came in mail the other day, so this morning, looked at it and pattern included and realized Pies and Tarts!!! Using her technique of interfacing. Went down to my sewing world to cut a few squares....found a shoe box marked 4" squares...misc. prints, bought at a garage sale a long time ago....perfect! Made two.....lovin' it......the 4" sq make 3 1/2" hsts; 4 make 6 1/2" square, there's a 6" circle in the set, I had lightweight interfacing...I see a pie and tart in my future...if I use that whole box of squares, I have the GO and 4 1/2" square die..that will work with a bit of a trim of hst.....and have another shoe box full of 2 1/2" misc. squares---same garage sale. I think they will work for the tarts...will check tomorrow.. Good thing I did "save" those boxes, thought at one time of donating....had to stop "playing"- life does get in the way! Sorry I made you read all this, But I just had to tell someone who appreciates that feeling of YES!!

Sound like a ton of fun! Don't you love it when an inspiration for a quilt hits just by playing with fabric... then it's like, "Oh wow! This actually WILL work!!!" Good for you

I had to look up "Pies and Tarts" quilt on Google. Looks like a great pattern! Can't wait to see it. Don't make us wait for the whole thing, show us the top when it's done.

I have those boxes too and every now and then I peek inside and a new project comes into being. Never heard of Pies and Tarts so thanks for the info.

You could also go to Inklingo. Linda Franz has it set up on her website, so you can print the pieces directly onto fabric.

Congratulations on your new project. The quilt looks fascinating but much too difficult for me. I'd love to see your quilt when you finish.
