There is a new quilt guild starting in the next town over from me. The first meeting is Jan 19th at 6pm to plan out the guild. It would be the perfect time to start. I wouldn't be coming into a group that has been meeting for years and would be in on the start up process. I think I would really like to go. The only problem would be the kids. DH has to work 2nd shift some weeks and I'd have to get my mom to watch them. Not a big deal really. It has just been so long since I've had anything like that for me that it feels weird. Everything I go to I usually have the kids with me and its usually church related and my mom is there too.

So, do I set the time aside for myself and go? I know I should and I want to. I guess I need some motivation to get out of the house and do something my by myself for me. Right now the only thing I do like that is my pap smear and that's absolutely no fun.

So, what do you think?

Go. If you have to miss one here and there that should be understandable. I say go.

I don't get to go to every meeting of my guild, but I always enjoy when I do get to go. As a granny myself, I'm sure watching the kids is something your mom enjoys anyway. And it's only once a month. And it's good for the kids to see that you have interests that don't always include them. I think they respect you more when you do something that is important to you. You have to help them learn to be well-rounded by being well-rounded yourself. GO! They'll thank you for it! :) :)

Everyone needs some "ME" time, so if this is something you would enjoy go for it. You don't have to attend every meeting. Have fun!!

I say GO!! You need to get away and do something for yourself now and then!!! I joined my Guild but can't go all the time because I am a mentor mom for the MOPS group at my church, I won't make it back to guild until April, but It's a great place to meet others that share your hobby!!!

I say "GO" Everyone deserves, requires and needs some time for themselves ! Sooner than you think the kids will be grown , so let your mom enjoy the kids and you enjoy the time without the kids.

GO!!! I agree with everyone else--you need to have some "me" time. It makes you a better wife, mom, daughter, etc.
