Here's my first attempt at paper-piecing!
I see that I made a mistake on the last two pieces by sewing on the wrong line - but overall, I am pleased by my first attempt.
I learned a few things:
even though it's about scraps, make sure they're big enough. [I had to re-do a few that were too small]
my sewing's not too shabby. Following a line that's clearly marked wasn't too difficult!
the possibilities of paper-piecing are endless!
I'm going to practice on a few more log cabins and see if I end up with enough courage to actually try a Kaffe Fassett's jewel squares on the cover of his book, Glorious Patchwork.

Looks great!!! I did one for the first time a couple of weeks ago and love the process! I will try some with curves before I tackle the Mariner's Compass pattern I just bought. I was surprised how quickly it went once I selected my scraps. That took longer! :)

Oh i love it! Now, when you iron it, dont use steam, that will make the ink on the paper run onto the fabric, iron with a dry iron, and you're done :) Love it, another quilter bit by the pp bug LOL :)

What type of paper works best for tearing away after completion?
I have also heard to make your stitches smaller to add strength when tearing the paper away.
I have a couple I would like to try.
Thanks,
Kirsten
