Welcome to the quilting world. I hope you have the opportunity to join a quilting guild or group. The encouragement and education you receive there can be awesome. You will be encouraged to grow in the craft. Plus having a quilting buddy is great.

I also hope you have a LQS or community center or adult ed where you can take some classes. I find the face to face classes are more helpful when learning as you can have your questions answered and any errors corrected immediately. Failing that there are many online quilting classes available too. I used to do most of my class work as samples and then at home work on the 'real' project for myselg.

Hi Letha, and welcome to the Quilting Board. I have a great begginers book for making photo memory quilts. it even has a few patterns in it. I would be more than glad to send it to you to help you get ideas. Just PM me your address if you are interested in it and I can mail it out to you this week. To PM me just click on my name at the left of this message and then click on private message, send your address and click send. I will try to put a pic of it here if I can get it to load. Sorry, could'nt get it to resize and load. Anyway it is titled Photo fun, by the Hewlett-Packard Co, edited by Cyndy Lyle Rymer.
