I don't have the machine but I did have a chance to sew on one at a class a few weeks ago. Very nice! I'm not in the market for a new machine but I would seriously consider this one if I was. I attended a "Janome event" and they were offering the machines as class machines for 999. Would have been a real good deal but......

I also have the Janome 6600 (for about 6 years) and would have a hard time choosing a new one. This one has all the bells and whistles that I couldn't live without and runs like a champ. I have NEVER had anything I couldn't sew - last week had 8 layers of heavy denim when making a purse and the Accufeed zipped right thru it. If you've had a 6600 and upgraded what did you choose and are you as happy with it - that is of course if you were as happy as I am with my 6600. Thanks!

I have both the Janome 6600 and the 8900 (with the accuflex foot-add on walking foot). There is NO comparison ...the AccuFeed foot on the 6600 is far better IMHO and the accuflex foot broke at about the 11 month point with medium amount of use. The dealer replaced it free but it's nowhere near as sturdy as the AccuFeed foot. If they remade the 8900 with the AccuFeed foot, I'd replace my machine.
