There is a new virtual section with posts about hand quilting that PatriceJ was nice enough to set up for us.

As new hand-quilting topics come up, I will try to add them to the virtual section.

It would help if when you start a new topic, you give it a title that reflects the content - for example, "Hand Quilting Batting Question" instead of "Hand quilting question" or, even worse "Does anyone know..." or things along that line.

Descriptive titles help make a topic more "searchable" and also help the user decide which topic will best help them with a particular question. Would you rather chose from fifteen topics labeled "hand quilting" or three topics that specify that they deal with batting for hand quilting?

Oh, just in case there are some who don't know how to find the virtual sections:

Click on "Home" at the top of the page, scroll to the bottom and click on "User-Defined Topic Lists", and then on that page scroll down (they are arranged alphabetically) until you reach "Hand Quilting".

Wonderful news!
When I joined the board a year ago I was shocked at how little was mentioned about hand quilting and that's all I did until now.
I thought it had fallen by the wayside and that made me sad.
So glad to know there's interest.
Thanks so much Butterflyblue and Patrice!!!!!! :D:D

I think there are just so many more machine quilters (and I do machine quilt too) that the new hand quilting posts tend to get buried, and we just don't see them. That's why I wanted to start this section. :)

Oh that's good! I was formerly with a group of hand quilting only quilters and I haven't been to any shows lately. I didn't realize all the MQ'ing going on :D
This year I'm giving it a go. But I doubt I'll ever give up HQ b/c it's so relaxing!
Thanks :)

thanks so much for setting this up. Hand quilting is something I really would like to learn, hope I can find lots of pointers here. One thing I have learned since joining is the ladder stitch which someone was kind enough to explain. I used on my 2nd quilt and what a huge difference that made to my binding, I'm a pretty lousy hand sewer..., so I'm real excited about this new section.
