How can you call it ugly?
To me, it looks like a big story book!
Pick one square from one nine patch, and I'll bet you have a five minute story to share with a captivated child.
These are the things REAL quilts are made to achieve, and I think you have done it BIG! <wave>

marymc, I love how the subtle sashings set off the blocks. Great job. Don't you love how this project just keeps growing? I have my squares quilt planned and will post when it gets sewn after Thanksgiving.

I'm in! Have loads of 2 1/2 squares cut, also half-square triangles. Want to make a scrappy snowball-9patch.

Not sure what I will back this with, but once I figure that out, I will finish it for my mom.....she will be 91 this month!!

Thanks for organizing this, Swan Song. It really has been fun seeing what everyone has done.

This one reminds me of the quilt that my Granny made for me. I've had it since I can remember. She died back in 89 and I just LOVE that thing!!!!! Your quilt made me think of her. I love it! HUGS!

I was not very happy with how they turned out but I pushed on and finished it. This blanket has become so special to me I can't even explain. My SIL says it's a mothers quilt kind of like a mothers ring. I feel so close to my family and I have it over me everytime I sit in the living room. Kind of ugly? Yes but treasured even more.
Marymc-I love that! I was wondering how you were able to twist them and get it to all look so good. I just love it!! :) I'm a sucker for mothery stuff!
