I got a call this morning, abuot 5 minutes ago. And this person, who is really nice, asked me if I could make her two t-shirt quilts with her daughters t-shirts,,, blah..blah..blah... I do not quilt for outsiders for a living, I do them once in a while for friends. Anyway, someone gave her my name.
OK this is not a problem, I tell people, no time frame, when it's done. LOL. SHe wants one full size by April 18th and one by May 18th. I was like "you are kidding". She said, well you have plenty of time. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
SO this lady lives in GLen ROse, TExas. I have her info. If anyone else would like to "play" with her , pm me. I just cannot do it. I know some do but not this chickie doodle. I get too many hitches in my git-along and never know when I will have a broken spoke. YOu know.
Thanks for letting me vent. Whew!!! Does anyone quilt this fast? I can with a regular top but stabilizing, cutting, etc for a t-shirt quilt. May be some good money for someone. She might even mail it if she thought she could get it back on time.
ANy takers. ROFL.

Really?? Are you kidding me??? Scat !!!!!

I would give her this info, since she is in Texas. There are several listings for this service that are in Texas. I know people that have used Texas Tshirt and been very pleased.

Oh my! Some people are just insensitive to time constraints. Since she is a non-quilter perhaps she needs a little frank discussion into the realities of quilting.

LOL! You are right. Non-quilters really don't understand the time involved. I get this all the time... although I am thinking...at least she offered to pay! I have friends and family who want me to throw out a quilt for free all the time. Hmmmm  If I'm gonna give them a quilt its pretty much going to be on my time and whatever I am in the mood to make! LOL! 8-) Cool that you have posted it here though....I am sure there will be some speedy quilter who can help her and then it'll be a win-win for all!!

She may be reasonable, just not for me. There may be some quitlers who can do that. I already have too many irons in the fire so to speak. And I don't push back others for anyone. I swear I felt my mouth drop open. She knew about wanting it done in Sept. last year when she got my card. Oh well, I wish her well. I am going to make some calles to local ladies who may want to make some fabric cash. :)

Lallyann - I was hoping to find help for her on here. She is not a member but there may be some who can use the mullah.$$$
I wanted to "stop, drop, and roll". (giggling )

I do quilts like that for consignment at times but there is no way I would want to feel pressured or rushed as I have a larger family and they come first. Besides that who would want to quilt 24/7 on some one elses project. I find quilts made form clothes intensive, hard on my equiptment and body. How does she know you have plenty of time and nothing to do. I don't like the whole attitude that seems to come with this from the person asking you to do it. Just say no. The people I did consignment quilts for have all been wonderful, supportive, respectful and understanding. When people are not I will not do the quilt for them even if I need the money.

I don't have a solution but do understand that time, is not appreciated at times.

I give everything away. and do things on my own time frame. Just turned down a quilt job.. the asker had not idea of the effort. typical..

I like what I make, I like giving . Sat with deadllines way too long to ever sit in that seat again !

It's funny when people know you are a member of a guilt guild they think you make a quilt a week. I get requests all the time to make a tee shirt quilt. I tell the truth, I don't like making tee shirt quilts so no I wouldn't want to make one. My kids and grands do not save their tee shirts so I'm off the hook for them!
