It is a very old book.. Im always surprised when I see it on book racks. Carol Doak is my inspiration. I teach her classes and have all her books.

Sometimes, there are errors in books--either by the printer, or in the instructions from the author. I know that on Eleanor Burns' website and a couple of others I've seen, there is a link for "Book Corrections". I have EB's "Still Stripping After All These Years" and had to print out a correction of the instructions for one of the quilts that I found on the website. Maybe you can Google "Carol Doak Quilt Pattern Corrections" or something like that and find out if there's been a misprint.

Most importantly, don't give up! Somebody here will have a suggestion to help you.

I recommend the Quilt In A Day triangle square up ruler. It comes in handy alot.
To square up you dont open the triangle, you put the size line you want on the sewn line and make one cut.
It is fast and accurate and it is for all sizes up to 6 in.

Unless I only have to make a couple, I use the Wondercut ruler.
