The squares with the white background is the culprit to me. Pink and cheddar colors go together great.

Great ideas. I agree that the white is the problem and I like the tea staining.

I think the top is lovely just as it is.

I agree. I think your top looks good just like it is. Are you putting borders on it? Maybe the right borders would make it look more agreeable to you....but I like it as it is, and I sure wouldn't rip it all up.

Instead of ripping the lighter pink out, you could use a darker thread to tone it down during the quilting.

What you are proposing is a LOT of work for only a small change (the new pink is only a shade or two darker than the old pink). I like the original... once it's quilted it will really look better. Your top is great!

I replied to this thread once but it appears to have gone walk about.

it is an awful lot of undoing before putting the new squares in place plus yseams.
I like the colour combo as it shows on my iPad.

First - YES, it's worth all the work to change it out if you're not happy about it. I am very OCD when it comes to my quilt tops and they must be exactly right. I have ripped apart an entire quilt top after completing it because it wasn't right. I re-did the entire vision and I was very very glad that I did.

To see if you like the darker pink better, I'd cut out some of the squares, and place them over the squares that you are thinking about changing out. That will give you a good enough idea as to whether or this is the right fix before ripping things apart and replacing them..

You could do the same thing if there are any other rows that you are thinking about changing out.

I think if you work slow and methodical, it won't be as daunting of a task as some might think.

Good luck!!!

That's exactly what I thought and I like the quilt as is. With the right border, or borders, and binding, it will all come together.

I think I might try the darker pink in place of the red floral. To me that one doesn't fit as well.
