My first wedding gift was a double wedding ring; a year later for the bride's twin sister I did a broken star; for my brother I did two pieced sea turtles. All of these can be seen here (scroll down, the wedding quilts are at the bottom): https://farthestfeather.wordpress.co...quilts/page/2/

Needing finished, I've got a modified Irish chain, a modified tumbling blocks (appropriate because of the surname of the groom), and a drunkard's path (per the bride's request).

I recently did my first double wedding ring for my daughter's significant other's son. I did it in their favorite colors; in batiks. Even for my first one it was gorgeous. Took forever but was greatly appreciated.

I can't figure out how to get the picture to post. I've been reading this for months now; enjoy all the helpful information and fun "banter". And everyone is SO talented.

A bargello can look very elegant, make a wonderful wedding gift, there are so many great designs, just search bargello quilts to see many options. Although they look very ( extreme) they really are pretty straight forward- straight line, strip piecing. Organization is the only real requirement. Pineapple quilts and log cabins can also make some pretty spectacular quilts.

the lovers knot is beautiful and not to difficult. from what I've seen in 'elegant quilts' is that they aren't to fussy or complex. the quilting adds to it and if you're sending it out, she'll do a good job. Charisma, a board member does my elegant quilts. I made my son an Asian quilt for his 25th birthday, and it needed to look elegant, she did a wonderful job on it. keep it simple and it will shine!

You can also do a carpenters star also called carpenters Wheel just HST but looks really nice when done most people think it looks harder then it is. You can do two colors or 8 or go full on scrappy depending on the look you want.
