Not like me but need inspiration!
Hi all,
My brain has melted trying to get ideas for a wedding quilt. The big day itself is not until next year but I will have to send it away to have it quilted professionally. I am going to make something in plenty of shades of blue and want it to look elegant (and maybe a little more complex than I have tried before). Can anyone show me their wedding gift quilts? Im not usually this imaginationally challenged!

Maybe a Lover's Knot pattern? I made one in shades of purple. Let me see if I can find a picture.
I think it was an Elenore Burns pattern except I made my blocks smaller than the pattern called for. I decided later I should have made the larger blocks. It would have been a lot easier.

Dina, your quilt is beautiful. Hillcountrygal, I have made two Irish chain quilts for weddings. They were well received. I like that pattern because it's to me, the epitome of what a quilt is. Simple but beautiful.

I remember seeing a pic of a beautiful log cabin quilt done with rose silk (may have been here on board, but can't find it). I think it was done in only one or two, but the light playing on the silk made it look like many diff shades. Wish I could find pic for you, because it is one of the most elegant quilts I've ever seen.

One that is high on my to do list is the Blooming 9 Patch. ..... you can google that to look at what to me are amazing variations of a great quilt - that is way simpler than it looks.
