I haven't been there in a while but Stone Mountain & Daughter fabrics in Berkley was nice. Unfortunately my favorite Thimble Creek in Concord has closed. I am sure there are others but since I moved my mom to TX I haven't been back up there for several years.
Have you tried Google "quilt shops in Oakland" ?? Amazing the amount of information that Google will display. Have fun ! The weather is great right now in CA.
A Good Friend, like an old quilt, is both a Treasure and a Comfort
It is very, very cold in NYC & my son has over 6' of snow in Boston. Can't wait to get to SF!!

Not in Oakland, but in SF...Satin Moon Fabrics is one of my all time favorite stores. http://www.yelp.com/biz/satin-moon-f...-san-francisco There are some quilting fabrics there, but there's also all kinds of other fabrics too. It's not cheap, but the selection is just exquisite. Plus, Clement St. is a great place for Asian food and markets. Be sure to check their hours before you go.
