Looks like you have it figured out! I am working on my first one and am anxious to get to the design part. Haven't had time this last week to sew at all.

Caroline - I think the "Flower Garden" piece will make up beautifully in a OBW.

Very pretty.
I am working on my first OBW and will have enough blocks out of 2 yards to do a runner and a couple of place mats all out of Christmas fabric.
I am enjoying do it but would never make a full size quilt out of that pattern.LOL

Caroline S

Use the Flower Garden print. The first one , Nuance, has too much solid brown and the patterns are very similar to what you'll get with the OBW method. Unless you fussy cut your triangles out of the printed areas, then it would work fine.

Yes, I like the Flower Garden fabric the best. My quilting daughter agrees with you. Maybe I will gift her the Nuance fabric.

Perfect!
You're so much smarter than I am...since I just jumped right in when I made my first one......and did the whole bedsize quilt with "expensive" fabric. I am now working on the 7th or 8th and no stopping in sight. They are addicting, but come to think of it, so are star blocks, flying geese, 4 patch, 9 patch, all of them!

How big are the squares on a OBW or is it what used to be called a whole clother quilt?

For all the ladies asking about OBW have a look at the Topic List - follow this link, it's about halfway down the list. There's some information there about the books that are available for the different techniques. If you click on the topic title, it willl take you to a list of the Picture threads featuring this type of quilt. http://www.quiltingboard.com/virtual_section_list.jsp
