Is there another handquilter out there who plucks out the stitches that are a little too large, or too small, or a little crooked, or....and re-stitches?

That's me too! I'm not trying to be perfect, but just consistent with my stitches. Practice, practice, and more practice!!
I sure do if I am not happy with that stitch or stitches.
Not unless it is really bad, I just try to make the next set of stitches better than the last ones!

Not unless its totally unbearable! I figure I'm human and this is handmade and that's what makes it special. I've started handquilting at one point and say 8-10 stitches and by the time I'm done I can be up to twelve. Big deal, not doing it for show, mostly out of love and that's never ugly.
I'm not trying for perfect but if it is really obvious and I know I can do better I will take it out.
Yes, it's me too! I do "backwards quilting" very often, especially when I use contrasting thread.
Only when it is glaringly obvious.
