odd sized blocks to make a quilt
I have a bunch of The Grinch that Stole Christmas Fabric. I fussy cut out several of the cartoons from some of the panels. They are all different sizes. I also have coordinating Dr. Suess fabric such as big stripes, polka dots, etc. Fat quarters and half yards. How do I go about constructing a quick laptop with all these sizes. Everything is a different size. There are some cute photos online of grinch quilts. Thanks

Why not take the coordinating fabric to use to make the fussy cuts into a standardized block. Start with the biggest of the fussy cuts and add a one-inch border to it. That could become your standard size and just add fabric to the others to make them all the same. You could keep one coordinate out to use as sashing between all the blocks. I love the Grinch!

I would figure out what the largest size block I have. Then add strips of the other fabrics until you get all the blocks up to that size. You could even add the strips in a wonky pattern because Seuss is always wonky anyway. After you have blocks all the same size you can either sash it or not depending on what you like the look of.

There's lots of options, but without knowing the size pieces you have it's hard to offer specific suggestions. Google "grinch that stole christmas quilt" for some pictures.

Here is my Grinch quilt using the panels and yardage. I actually made 2 identical quilts. The pattern just has you sash the panel blocks to make them uniform. This is the pattern that I used http://www.robertkaufman.com/quiltin...s_panel_quilt/
