No one here (on this QB list) seems to realize that cotton is a living breathing fiber...if you cut off the air supply it will die(rot)....
So this is why peoples stashes keep breeding!!!!!!

This has happen with poly.too and usually after I have handle it. Then I have had fabric for 20yrs. and nothing. You have to be careful when you put it away. You may not see anything on your hands or the fabric but go back 6 months there it is a spot and it went through several layers. If you are not sure wrap each layer with tissue paper. I suggest that for fabric that cost a lot. You can store in clean pillow cases. I'm going to look online some more about how to prevent or get rid of them.

I have never had any problems either, but I do take stuff out regularly to air it, make sure moths have not been chomping in there and inspect for any other damage.

Crossed fingers, but nothing to report after nearly 40 years of hoarding all sorts of craft and fabrics.

I have almost all my fabric in either plastic boxes or drawers so I can see which color I need in a hurry. The lids are always off so there is no way brown spots or mould can build up in them. I do not live in an area where I can get problems except of dust from the highway outside.

Actually the floods were all around me. we are the highest spot on the Warrego Highway so it did not effect me except for getting food to feed two grandchildren staying with me. They are home now so I can sew and have peace again. I am too old to put up with naughty kids. I turned 59 yesterday so I don't need it.

Thank you Rainy Day. I agree with you there. I can only put up with so much but my GS took it too far this time so he was punished. From now on only one at a time that way no fights and peace will remain.

I have not had problems with plastic storage containers. I think these stories are started so people will buy whatever these people are selling to store fabric.
