If I dont soon stop buying both fabric and patterns and start quilting something, I should be committed lol

I'm the same. I have quite a few, but I stopped allowing myself to buy them when I realized that out of all that I had, I had only actually made ONE of the quilts. Now I look at them and ask myself why on earth I ever bought them.
Look for them in the classified section soon. When I can find the time I'm going to list a number of things in the classifieds. 8-)

I don't buy patterns as I can't afford to, but my computer is FULL of free ones!!! I just love looking at them. So far tho, when it's time to sew up a quilt, I either don't follow a pattern at all or I modify the one I am using. I hope to use a pattern when I make the one for my bed. It's 3rd in the que just now. LOL

So relieved to know I'm not the only person to suffer this side effect from quilting and embroidery. Thank you girls.

Happy Quilting

Funny you should mention this. I'm in the process of cleaning and reorganizing my sewing room. In doing so, I have come across 17 kits that include patterns plus at least 20 more 'homemade' kits with a pattern, a magazine or a book along with the fabric for a quilt in a giant (2 1/2 gal.)ziplock baggie. And everytime we have a speaker or instructor at our guild, of course, I havee to have their pattern(s) or books or tools. Obsessed? You bet and plan on staying that way as long as I can afford it. Oh, by the way, I do finish some of the patterns, but could never live long enough to make all the ones I admire and that inspire me.

I absolutely love collecting quilt patterns, especially old patterns that have become quite rare. I consider it to be a great passion,NOT a burden! Life is too short not to enjoy it as much as possible, even if that includes wonderful collections that get my creativity into gear. I love helping a fellow quilter tracking down a pattern.

My goal is to live long enough to use half of the patterns I have collected....

Whenever I travel, I simply must go into the local bookstores (used books if I can find them) to see if there is a quilt book that I simply must have.

More often than not, I have more quilt books than they do.

Have spent a small fortune on patterns I have never, or will probably now, never use. Should take pics and sell them on here, but don't know how to do it. :)
