What do you do with a layer cake? I saw a beautiful one at my LQS yesterday, but wasn't sure what I'd do with it.

It's not a dumb question. :D A layer cake is a group of fabrics from the same line. They are cut smaller than fat quarters, usually 9x11 inches. If there is enough fabric you can make a small quilt or wall hanging. Or you can buy more than one bundle and make a bigger quilt. Hope this helps. ~Cecilia

:D OK, I was thinking that they were the 10 in. square packs of a line of fabrics that you can easily make all sorts of things with. There are specific patterns for them too.

Fat Quarters, Fat Eighths and now Jelly Rolls and Layer Cakes...at least the marketing terms are getting a bit more appealing...best off is these haven't any calories.

Yep, with the names they're giving these things folks will think that quilters like to eat too huh!! LOL I think I even saw one somewhere during the bunnyhop that was called a cinnamon roll. Ohhh and just so we're not thirsty when we quilt...there's one site that has lemonade packets too. LOL
