I have two and neither one is working and not in the best shape and I have one in the wooden box. I took the one in the wooden box to see about getting the wiring redone it has tape on it and the dealer said he could make it like new but change things and I said no ( funny thing is he sold my husband the new Janome 6600) I still want the old machines restored but I want them put back like they are. Your lucky if yours is ready to use for that price.

Sounds like a great find. I have a treadle, but never have checked on the age.

I cant wait to see photos. I was just given an old singer. I have no idea how old but my friends husband is "restoring" it. When the snowbirds come back I will go and take pictures.

Congratulations on your new "baby." I was lucky enough to get a treadle machine from my sister-in-law and her husband. They spotted it out by the curb of their neighbor & she sent him home for the trunk while she stood by. It was in their basement for a couple of years & then I spotted it. They brought it over & were surprise to find that there was actually a machine in there, and it is the Egyptian Sphynx. It needs a belt, and an instruction manual, but it's in wonderful shape. One of these days I hope to get it up and running.

Wow!! Congrats on the find. I've been looking on Ebay for one for awhile, and the prices have been way too high for me. You got a real deal! Enjoy!!

Try Craigs list. I feel e-bay has gotten too big and there are very few good deals to be had out there anymore. Craig's list you can look locally and usually find much cheaper and it has the same "narrow your search" type functions as e-bay.

Thanks! Think I will. I don't usually think about Craig's List, and have hardly ever even looked at the site. Now I'm going to.
