I want to make a bow tuck out of Batik matierial. Is a fat quarter enough or do I need more than one fat quarter? This will be for the outside and the strip on the pocket.

Thanks for listening....

The outside of what piece? Check the size of of the pieces you need to cut and see if they will fit on a fat quarter. Fat quarters are usually 18" by about 22". Hope this helps.

You will need more than one fat quarter if you are making the large one. And you'll need more than one for the lining also. I would get about 4 to 6 fat quarters and you'll need some fuseable fleece also. Like the above poster said,, check the measirements of the pieces and yeppers,, you'll need more than one fat quarter for your new purse. good luck, Huggies, Fay

I used just 1 FQ for the focus fabric on a regular sized and a mini one too. The top half needed for the regular size was 8 1/2" x 19" (each side) and 7" x 17" (each side) for the mini. I just used some cordinating fabric fabric for the bottom, handles, ties and pocket, and some more cordinating fabric for the lining and inside pocket. I really loved the focus fabric in my FQ but only had just one to use. I made it work and they turned out pretty good. The people I made them for loved them.

Since the only fabric I have available in the area we are right now is at WalMart in the form of FQ, I figured out how many I need to make a purse. 6 FQ will make a purse. The inside pockets and the handle say to cut WOF but then you cut them in two so why not say 22". So 6 will work if the FQ are true size.

I think that is bcause she make the handle the full width of the fgabric and cut them in half so you are actually making one and just cutting it in half to get the two handles. I made mine 23" I just make mine the same way I have always made them. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay
