Have any of you tried the one-second needles yet? I saw some at the dollar store, but they are $10.00 for four. Could they really be worth that? Do they work?

I've been waiting for someone to reveiw them too. They certainly are over priced. I saw some that were already bent where the "slot" is, even though they were still sealed in the box, so maybe that means they're weak.

My experience - they are super easy to thread but snag on layers of fabric when trying to sew. So if all I needed to do was thread the needle, they're awesome.

Buying them was my big mistake....
While I tried them only one day, I hate them. Kept thinking it was just one defective needle so I kept replacing one with another, but I was wrong. While they are easy to thread they continually catch on the fabric and the thread breaks way too often for my liking. I figured it was an expensive and frustrating lesson learned.

the lady that makes these in the US sold the rights to have them manufactured overseas. she calls hers the spiral eye needle and there is a board discussion of them here http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-137735-1.htm#3702024

I use the ones I got in Hancocks that have a slit on top of the eye and the thread pops into it. It works great for burying threads. I think Dritz makes them. I think they are called easy thread or something like that.

Thanks for the reviews. I was going to get some for Christmas gifts, but I think I'll pass.
