I just discovered I'd made a really big goof on 13 log cabin blocks I'm working on. To fix meant a whole lot of ripping, so I decided to
"make lemonade" instead. I will now have 2 star shaped log cabin place mats. Tomorrow I'll begin again on the blocks for my quilt top.

That's the attitude. Make lemonade out of lemons.

I probably would have put them in a pile and never touched them again. So glad you made something else out of them. Good thinking!

I too would have designed a pattern to use them in. I don't have a problem throwing out small scraps, but, nothing I can use for something. Good for you.
