I only read the first page of responses. I definitely like the darker colored fabric, but I think the pattern of the darker border takes away from the gorgeous Bargello quilt you made. Maybe a different dark purple with a smaller pattern. Just my opinion.
If it was mine I would go with the dark purple already in the quilt. Your sample is too distracting for the rest of the quilt IMO

I like the dark. It stops the quilt pattern and frames it better than the light. With the light, it seems like the colors of the quilt just bleed off the edge, there's no stopping or framing the quilt.
