and I LOVED it. My LQS has one that you can rent time on and I took the class to learn how to use it a few months ago. Today, I finally took the plunge and took a small baby quilt to practice on. After a quick refresher, I got started and 45 minutes later, I had finished. I didn't do anything fancy, just a stipple across the whole quilt, but it was so much fun. It didn't take as long as I thought it would, and I'm feeling so confident that I booked a day next month to quilt the top I made for my fiance. I'm sure he thinks I've forgotten about it, so I'm going to finish it and give it to him for Christmas. Hopefully, I can keep it a surprise until then!

How cool. How much does it cost to rent it? I love the idea of quilting my own stuff. And I've done a few little lap quilts on my singer but I can't imagne doing much bigger.

Have fun with it.

it's only $12.50 per hour to use the machine, plus the cost of thread if you buy it from the shop.

Wow sounds like a good deal! Glad you had fun! So are you gonna venture out and do something beside meandering? Come on I know you want too!

I would love to venture out, but I don't want to try anything too crazy since it's a present for my fiance. It actually will probably end up being our bed quilt, since it's a little larger than a queen. I will probably do a meander of some sort with leaves in it, since the blocks are trees and mountains. And maybe some type of leaf border. I will have to draw it out to practice between now and then.

You're giving me the nudge to also try it at a local LQS that does the same.

you should definitely try it! It's so much fun once you get over the initial nervousness.
