I have recently finised my first quilt top and back using oriental fabric and have fallen in love with all things Japanese/asian/oriental. Where is the best place to buy this type of fabric online? I live in Adelaide, Australia and there doesn't appear to be a huge selection of fabric here. If someone has a web site or knows of one could you please let me know as I am poised and ready to purchase lots more fabric :-P

I'm curious also. I just finished 3 kimono quilts! It took me awhile to find the oriental material! There is a lady here that has some. I bought s bunch from her! I was lucky enough to also find some at Ben franklins and my DD LQS. If interested I will pm her name and you can see what she has left. She is alsoore reasonable than stores tho I don't know whst shipping would be!!

Thanks so much for replying to my question. I would be glad to email the store directly to see if I can organise to see what fabric they have.

Try SeaWatch Fabrics. They have a great selection and the prices are less than the LQS. Service is very quick. Here's a link:

My friend has connections to friends in Japan(Tokyo)-not sure how much the shipping would be from there. She has beautiful fabric from there. If you need something from Hong Kong, I could always send something.
