Thread: Origin of the name "quilting"

Does anyone know where did quilting get it's name? I know it has been going on for a long time. But, I would like to know where and how it originated.

I did a little looking and found this pdf book that may answer your question. It has lots of info, hope this helps, but it sounds like there may be some question as to where the name comes from.
