I didn't see this one coming.

Moda Marbles just went up in price 45 cents / yard, at the wholesale level, sometime between March 29th and today. That is on top of a 25 cents/yard increase that happened earlier this year.

This kinda stings.

It used to be that Moda would give advance warning of when a price increase was to go into effect, so that you could place orders ahead of the deadline. But there was no hint that this was going to happen. And it was the most significant increase that they've ever done on this basic line.

How sad. It's killing my fabric budget.

When our sales rep came through earlier this week, she told us that she thinks that as the price goes up, people will still quilt, just make smaller projects. She said that in Europe, where costs have been high for a while, they're more likely to make items such as wall quilts, rather than full-size bed quilts.

Thanks for the advance notice! I have 4 rolls of batting currently, but I'll be stocking up even more!
