Outer Banks Shops
#1
I will be going to the Outer Banks in NC come June and will be staying in Corolla. Does anyone know of any quilt shops in the area? Will be with grandkids and am not a beachgoer...so will need to find a shop.
Thanks, all..........

There's a shop on Manteo near the harbor. It also sells antiques. That's a great little get-a-way place and there's a great seafood place called Stripers closeby. If you go early for dinner like 4 pm they have great specials. Have fun. We go to Rodanthe way down the oposite way of the Outer Banks. Love it. Hope to go soon myself. Oh, the Pulitzer prize winning play "The Lost Colony" is also showing every year since the 1930's out on Manteo. quite enjoyable.

Outer Banks Quilts and Antiques
108 Sir Walter Raleigh Street, Manteo
(252) 473-4183
This large store carries the goods of more than 12 antiques and collectibles dealers. It's also the Outer Banks's only official quilt shop, with handmade quilts and quilting supplies.
The Cloth Barn
Etheridge Road, Manteo
(252) 473-2795
Returning to US 64, head north toward Manns Harbor and turn left onto Etheridge Road. Drive a short distance, and you'll be at a store packed nearly floor to ceiling with fabrics, notions, and patterns. The selection of woven tapestry cloth is unbelievably beautiful. The Cloth Barn closes mid-December through mid- January.
The Barefoot Quilter
MP 4.5, 158 Bypass in Kitty Hawk Plaza, Kitty Hawk
(252) 441-9867
The Barefoot Quilter promotes and preserves the art of quilt making by offering high quality quilting fabrics, supplies and classes in a fun, friendly inspiring environment that sparks the creativity and loyalty of our customers!
Hope these help. Might want to give them a call to make sure they are still in business as I have never been to any of them and need to schedule a day trip to these myself.........LOL!

Outer Banks is where I saw the Ben Franklin store last year, but we didn't get to stop. I cannot remember where it was, but I'm sure you could Google it.

Just got back from Outer Banks Friday. I went to the shop in Manteo and found it was small but nice. The Barefoot Quilter has gone out of business. When you turn to go to Corolla at Southern Shores there is a shop almost as soon as you turn onto Route 12. I think it is called Fabric Funsastics or something like that. It has fabric but little else. I was in Duck and went to Corolla and it is beautiful up that way. Have fun.
