Default Paducah Quilt Show - My daughter found cheap hotel rooms!

The Paducah (Kentucky) quilt show is April 24-27, 2013. I've always wanted to go for the entire show - but not gone because the hotels are so outrageous & I'd rather spend my money on fabric. So for 2013, on a whim, I had my daughter go online and look to see what she could find. Amazingly enough - the Motel 6 in Metropolis, Illinois - which is about 10 miles or 20 minutes from the quilt show - has rooms! And they are really affordable. I am so excited, and wanted to share the good news with everyone else. I'm sure that they won't last long - so if you're considering it - check it out and make your reservations online. If you book through the Motel 6 website - it can be $5-$10 cheaper than calling the hotel. And if you're wondering why everyone else hasn't already booked the hotel - Motel 6 is not always listed on all of the popular travel websites when you look for hotels - so a lot of people forget about them. Hope that you're as lucky as I was!

I stayed in Metropolis, Ill. when I went to the show and it is not very far from Paducah. don't remember the name of it but it was across the street from the River Boat and went in the evening to gamble. lOL Lots of fun. Enjoy your trip. Also there is a huge statue of Superman there.

You wouldn't want to stay at the Motel 6 in my town. It's in the police blotter almost everyday.

I hear quilters say I'll just be sleeping and showering so I don't need a nice room. That's what I thought too and just accepted the crowded, no privacy rooms. One year at Paducah I had no option but a nice single room with king size bed. I loved it! I couldn't believe how much more enjoyable a nice room made my trip. Now I always book a single room of my own even if I go with a group. Single rooms are the last to be booked, everyone wants to share a double room. It isn't that much more then sharing the cost of a double room. I can't go this April and I will miss it so much! You will have a wonderful time at Paducah Quilt Show. So much to see and do.

lol this reminded me of our vacation we were driving to michigan from oklahoma and made it as far as terra haute in (not sure of spelling) and we were so exhausted we stopped at a motel 6 just off the hwy we were on and we had to take a room with 2 full size beds and me and my hubby both are on the heavy side so that was a draw back. at 3 am some people woke us up fighting outside our door lol at 4am there were police cars and it sounded like they were filming an episode of cops in the parking lot and as soon as it was daylight we showered and left needless to say we were a little more picky and found something quieter on the way home and im sorry but motel 6 is off my list for awhile lol.
