    Default Paducah vs Houston

If you had an opportunity to go either to Paducah Quilt Week in April or Houston Quilt Festival at the end of October, which would you choose? How do the two compare?

    Thanks,
    DebD

I have never been to Paducah, but go to the IQF in Houston every year. I have been told by friends that Paducah is not as big as Houston. One of these years I am going to Paducah just to see.

I have only been to Paducah, so I can't compare the two, but I can tell you that the show is awesome, and usually includes about 400 quilts from all over the world. Usually about 800 quilts are juried into the show and about half of those are displayed. There are usually many gorgeous quilts from Japan. The classes are great, the Quilt Museum is not to be missed, Eleanor Burns is there and fantastic, and of course there's Hancocks of Paducah. If your husband goes, there's great fishing at Land Between the Lakes.

I've been to both liked them both,
Paducah more personal, Houston larger if I got another chance I would go back to Paducah
Even though things are spread al over the place.

Paducah wins my vote and I have been to both. So many places to go and things to do all over the town of Paducah. Love it and have been there several times.

I like both of them. For me, Houston is easier to get to. Houston is all under one roof, but Paducah is spread out. It's a charming town and I enjoyed my visit. They both showcase some amazing quilts. I think Houston may have a few more quilt exhibits, but they both have plenty of vendors.

I have been to Houston twice, it is so big and overwhelming at times. I would really like to go to Paducah. and plan to hopefully next year.

I have gone to Quilt Market twice in the 90s which is held for shop owners and people in the quilting industry. Market is held just before Festival. Love it. I always wanted to go to Paducah but it is just too far to travel from CA.
