When I find panels, etc. at the thrift store that I don't want, but that someone on here might like, should I get them anyway and then post them. They are usually very inexpensive, and would give me offerings to share. But I don't want to end up with a bunch of things I don't want, either. LOL.. I am especially referring to holiday items. I often find Halloween, Christmas and other holiday panels and fabrics which I don't use, but would be happy to get them if any of you would want them.
I recently passed up a beautiful cotton tablecloth in a Christmas print for $1.50, then felt guilty for not getting it, as I was sure someone would have loved to have that fabric. It had a stain, but that could have been cut around. I'd like your opinions on this kind of thing. Would you like to have fabric like that if I get it?

There may be other quilters in your area who want to buy that sort of thing. It's good of you to be so generous, but I don't see spending that kind of time and effort unless it's a volunteer type of work for people in desperate need. Just my 2 cents!

It all depends on if you can afford it . There are some quilters who don't have access to the kind of deals you find that would love to have any fabric. Others are more selective about what they will accept.

There is someone for every fabric out there

Also there has been a pay it forward thread going , where you post fabric you are giving away to others and that has been very popular.

I wouldn't be able to pass up any kind of fabric that I liked and/or thought someone else would like. You could post pictures and just charge what you paid as well as shipping. I think lots of people would enjoy that.... :D

I know what you mean! I got one yesterday, a bunny pillow panel for 75cents! I often leave things I wont use even if they are a great buy, you never know when another sewer/quilter will come in that store looking for a find.

I think that's a great idea; and a generous offer. I might even take some myself.

WOW, now I'm even more torn. I think I will be very selective about the panels, etc. that I buy to share. And perhaps will leave them a while to see if other quilters find them before I take them. I don't want to be greedy and take what another quilter might consider a treasure, but I do want to be able to share here as others have shared with me. It will be a fine line I have to walk, lol, but I am up to the challenge. I'm looking forward to more input from others in our wonderful group, too.

If it is a nice piece and reasonably priced, I am sure it would get sold on here :D:D:D

I have many panels given to me by a friend. They are all washed & ironed. Don't really care to do anything with them, except cut them for scraps. If ANY ONE out there would like some, please send me a PM with your name & address. I'll be more than happy to provide postage, thus freeing up some valuable space in my fabric area! :-) If you are looking for a particular color or motif, let me know. Just maybe I can help!

your comment "It will be a fine line I have to walk" has proven "the line" you have chosen...kindness. Find blessings in all you do.
