Default Paper pieced part of a quilt?

Has anyone ever paper pieced just part of a quilt, like in the center or in the borders? If so could you post a picture? I am thinking of doing that with some black and yellow fabric. I know there are no rules when it comes to quilting but some ideas would help me get started.

I don't have pictures but yes, you can pp part of quilt and regular piece other parts. I've pp'd flying geese to use in a quilt with other blocks and also pp'd center medallions surrounded by other pieced blocks.

If you look at most of my quilts I have pp and regular pieced different blocks together in quilt tops. Working on one now that has the most pping that I have ever done in one quilt. I will look for one quilt that was 50/50 and see if i have it on my computer or phone and post it.

Someone on QB did a great scrap quilt but I can't remember who. She used all her little UFO paper pieced blocks in the center of scrap blocks. It really looked good.

people use them all time, just here and there...they are so slow to do that they become just for those specialized areas....
