Since many of you seem like you like my Boo kitty, I figured I'd post a better picture of her. Hope it's OK that it's a off topic. The pooch is Willow, her best friend. Obviously Willow likes her, too.

To get back on a quilting topic, I did get 1/4 of my paper pieced block finished last night on the hand crank. A friend recommended this method that I REALLY enjoy: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...33818438EDRdkE

The technique is different because you do not sew through the paper & try rip it off when you're finished. I always found it stretched my stitches. Instead, you sew right next to it after it's folded over. I'll download some pictures of my project if anyone's interested. AND, I plan on hand-quilting it.

The only problem I'm having is trying to maneuver the hand crank, cutting board with ruler & rotary cutter, and the iron. The way things are set up, I'm surrounded by small tables! But hey, at least I'm in the living room with the rest of the family.

The kiddos have a 2 hour delay today, but I'm really hoping they decide to cancel school. Got about 5-6" of beautiful snow last night. Would be a great quilting day.

Trina

Your Boo kitty and her friend Willow are just adorable together!!! My DD was on a 2 hour delay but they cancelled school again this morning. I hope to quilt after my visit to the dentist for a cleaning.

Boo was a 'rescue' kitty. She's got a lot of 'issues' because her face is so flat (ear problems, breathing problems, etc. etc.). She's currently locked in the laundry room MEOWING every 10 minutes or so because she was a BAAAAD Boo Kitty.

I attached a picture of my first 1/4 part (it measures 6 1/2" unfinished) of my new paper-piecing project. Like I said before, I'm really trying to expand my horizons with color, and I'm really loving the blue & purple. I plan to do a darker purple frame around the 4 completed blocks (the picture is only part of the first block, if you know what I'm talking about).

Sorry if the picture doesn't work. My hubby bought me a new camera, and I'm still trying to figure the thing out.

I love it when my cat slides down between my back and the computer chair back. A heating pad!! Just like your dog has.

Sorry, let me try again:
http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...33818438EDRdkE

The tutorial is on WebShots, under "thecrazycrafter" and the album is called Freezer paper Piecing. I just can't say how much fun it is to do, AND even better it makes you look like you're a professional.

Every time I show my hubby a block of mine, his response is always "Wow, that looks complicated". It's actually simple. I don't copy mine onto freezer paper, just trace it with a ruler. I bought a HUGE roll of the stuff because I knew I'd go through it, but the neat thing is that you can use the same paper over and over again.

I sure hope you're able to find it!
