Default Paper piecing?

When you pp do you backstitch? I've done 3 of these now. I have backstitched on them as it is a habit when I sew.

So.....do you backstitch?

Thanks....
Ginger

No b/c the stitch line gets stitched over by another stitch line

No. I start before the seam line, end past and same as above post, seams are sewn over.

no because the stitches are much tighter than regular patchwork. I don't back stitch there either though.

or do you mean english paper piecing? in handwork I always take a few tight stitches when finishing a thread.

I do because I find sometimes when I am tearing off the paper (and I'm not always the most gentle, since I also have my parrot helping me out) that the seams open. I have an automatic fix on my sewing machine, so it's not really a big deal for me.

I normally shorten my stitch length as well but even if I don't I'm assuming that I am ultimately over-stitching so I don't bother with backstitching either.

I seem to always backstitch. It is a habit from making garments and such.
