I'm not sure what this sewing tool is for, but I use it to score the lines on the paper before I start paper piecing. Makes it easier to remove the paper.

That a tool that was used for garment sewing. You would transfer the markings from the pattern to the fabric . You would run the tracing wheel over the pattern , there was special tracing paper you would insert between the pattern on the fabric.
    It was great for darts!
Nice use to help remove paper from the PP project.

It is a tracing wheel to transfer pattern markings such as darts, seams etc. to fabric.

It's a tracing wheel used to mark seams, darts, in clothing sewing. It's used with a tracing paper (like carbon paper).

Shoot -- I take out the seams so often, that my sewing machine needle does the perforations!!!!!! I'm just learning PPing...I love it..but BOY is it ever frustrating!!! If only I could get my mind into "reverse"!!!
